Following his appointment as Receiver by the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Alameda, Gerard F. Keena, along with the Bay Area Receivership Group, closed the sale of 22330 Main Street in Hayward, California to pave the way for the completion of a major mixed-use redevelopment. The approximate 3 acre parcel is centrally located and highly visible in the downtown area of the City of Hayward. The project, as originally approved by the City, includes 240 residential units, retail space, sustainability/renewable energy features, community benefits, affordable housing units, and transportation demand management elements such as preferential parking for electrical vehicles and a bike rental program. The Court approved the sale of the property and directed Mr. Keena to monitor site demolition. The purchase price for the transaction was $15,575,000, along with an additional $1,571,000 placed in escrow for site demolition, with total redevelopment project costs anticipated to exceed $100 million.
