On February 26, 2020, Bay Area Receivership Group Attorney Ryan Griffith, Esq. submitted an Amicus Brief in support of Receiver’s being able to receive super-priority over banks and strip their liens.
The brief was submitted to the First Appellate District of California, and the Receiver on the case Mark Adams Esq., as well as his son and General Counsel Andrew Adams, Esq. thanked Bay Area Receivership Group for their support and complimented Ryan on the brief.
The case at issue is County of Sonoma v. James Quail, and the Mortgage Holder U.S. Bank is seeking to stop the Receiver from obtaining his fees by arguing against super-priority. Super-Priority and lien-stripping is the lifeblood of California receivers so the upcoming decision is very important.
